Admission and tours are free. Tour are available by appointment year round for groups from 10-30. Most tours are 45 minutes to one hour long.

Traces the evolution of painting styles in America from Birch to Bierstadt and beyond
The 19th Century French Art History Tour:
Explores Barye to Barbizons, Romantics to Rodin, complete with French art
terminology
The 19th Century American Sculpture Tour:
Takes a look at great American sculptors, including Borglum, Farnham, Russell, Remington, Saint-Gaudens, and others
The 19th Century French Sculpture Tour:
Explores French sculpture from neo-classical to the Romantic to the Modern using the works of Barye, Dalou, Rodin and others in the permanent collection
The American History Tour:
A journey through early American History which includes our Civil War Gallery and the conquest of the West
The Cowboy Artists Tour:
Covering Russell and Remington, but also the works of other significant
"cowboy" artists like Stanley, Shreyvogel, and A.D.M. Cooper
The Decorative Arts Tour:
An appreciation of the decorative arts including our collections of Steuben glass, colonial silver, Cybis porcelain, and Wedgwood
The Dolls Tour:
Exploring Louisiana history with our collection of antique bisque dolls. Due to exhibit size, groups are limited to 10 patrons
The European Experience:
A look at significant European works including our tapestries, paintings by Dutch masters, Les Animaliers sculpture, and works by Rodin
The Greco-Roman Tour:
Reveals the classical influence between ancient Greece and works in our permanent collection
The Hudson River School Tour:
A complete walk-through the first significant American art movement from Cole and Durand to Bierstadt and Sonntag
The Painting Techniques Tour
Answering the question, "How did they do that?", this tour explores several works of art and their techniques and terminology
The Perils of Pigment:
Uncovering the artistry and history of color and divulging the dangers of painting
The Remington/Russell Tour:
An in-depth look at two of America's premier western artists in galleries dedicated to their work. This tour can also cover either Remington or Russell exclusively upon request
The "Smalls" Tour:
Catering to the young (or young at heart), these literature based tours inspired by works in the Gallery explore the artistic world in different ways:
Wicked Villains: Tales involving the baddest of the bad in storybook land
Musical Journeys: Sing your way through your favorite paintings
Colorful Creations: A fun and light introduction to artistic vocabulary
Louisiana Folktales: Stories Gran'mere used to tell
