16th Century Brussels Renaissance Tapestries woven for Francois I of France, after designs by Giulio Romano. This particular tapestry being 11' 5" high and 11' long. 4th of a Grand Series of 6. Bears the following Latin inscription woven in a cartouche in the middle of the top border: "Liv Lib XXX. Scipio et Hannibal hic coram de paci locute guam negueunt verdis, decidunt Marte guerellam." Woven by Flemish weaver Marc Cretif.
