16th Century Brussels Renaissance Tapestries woven for King Francois I of France, after designs by Giulio Romano. This particular tapestry being 11' 7" high and 13' 5" long. 1 of a Grand Series of 6. Bears the following Latin inscription woven in a cartouche in the middle of the top border: "Liv Lib II. Scipio legatos mittens per milltes artem, Asdrubalis simul et speculatur casta Syphacis." Woven by Flemish weaver Marc Cretif.
