16th Century Brussels Renaissance Tapestries woven for Francois I of France, after designs by Giulio Romano. This particular tapestry being 11' 1" high and 15' 1" long. 2nd of a Grand Series of 6 and bears the following Latin inscription woven in a cartouche in the middle of the top border: "Liv Lib II.Fugeratut Latuis rigidae dat colla securi, inque crucem fertur Romanus perfuga duram." Woven by Flemish weaver Marc Cretif.
