16th Century Brussels Renaissance Tapestries woven for Francois I of France, after designs by Giulio Romano. This particular tapestry being 11' 3" high and 10' 10" long. 3rd of a Grand Series of 6 and bears the following Latin inscription woven in a cartouche in the middle of the top border: Liv Lib II. Scipio et Hasdrubal ad Syphacen amicital ineundae causa veniunt et inter cenam foldus contrahunt." Woven by Flemish weaver Marc Cretif.
