Bancker, Adrian

Born the son of Evert Bancker, Mayor of Albany, New York, Adrian was
apprenticed to the goldsmith Hendrick Boelen, the brother of Jacob Boelen,
in 1718, and was admitted as a freeman in New York in 1731. He married
Elizabeth van Taerling in 1729 and during the period 1733-36 he was
collector for the South Ward in New York City. Bancker continued his
silversmithing trade for at least thirty-five years following his
admission as a freeman, for he advertised as late as October 23, 1766.
