Quintard, Peter
(1699-1762)

The son of Isaac and Jeanne Fune Quintard, of Bristol, England, Peter was
baptized in the French Church of New York. He was first married to Jean
O'Dart Ballereau in 1731 and later to Deborah Knapp of Stamford,
Connecticut. Quintard was registered as a freeman in 1731, and four years
later he advertised in the New York Gazette as a "Goldsmith, living near
the New Dutch Church." In 1737, Quintard left New York and moved his shop
to Norwalk, Connecticut, where he died in 1762.
